Building My First £100 Million Business

I'm Ronojay Nag — also known as Ronnie — a self-taught technology entrepreneur who has been building businesses for more than 20 years.

I started my first technology business in September 2004. Since then I've built companies, acquired businesses, raised institutional investment, developed technology and completed business exits.

I've also made mistakes and taken some wrong turns. I'm still building.

Today, I'm bringing those experiences together at Kasava, building connected-vehicle technology across the UK and India. The next ambition: build the first £100 million business of my entrepreneurial career.

Track Record

This Isn't My First Business.
But I'm Determined to Make It My Biggest.

I have spent more than twenty years building businesses.

I sold my first business in 2013.

In 2015, another business I founded attracted venture-capital investment.

In 2018, I completed another business sale.

Today, I operate businesses across the UK and India, with my principal focus on building Kasava.

Like most entrepreneurial journeys, mine hasn't been a straight line.

There have been successes, difficult decisions, mistakes, disputes and setbacks along the way.

I don't intend to rewrite those chapters.

I intend to write the next one.

The target: build my first £100 million business.

The Business I'm Building Now

Kasava

Technology for a world of connected vehicles.

Kasava develops connected vehicle, video, telematics and digital-evidence technology for professional drivers and commercial fleets.

We operate across the UK and India, combining commercial operations in Britain with technology development and engineering capability in India.

The opportunity I see is considerably larger than selling dashcams. The ambition is to build an intelligent technology platform connecting vehicles, fleets, drivers, insurers and evidence.

Still Building

Everything I've learned led here.

Kasava brings together more than twenty years of customers, acquisitions, connected technology, institutional investment, exits, mistakes and lessons.

The £100 Million Journey

The Road to £100m

I'm documenting the process of attempting to build Kasava into my first £100 million business. Not retrospectively. While we're actually doing it.

That means documenting the decisions, wins, mistakes and challenges involved in scaling a technology company.

01

Building the Team

Growing engineering, sales, marketing and leadership capability across the UK and India.

02

Building the Technology

Moving beyond conventional vehicle cameras towards intelligent connected-vehicle and digital-evidence infrastructure.

03

Winning Larger Fleets

Moving from individual drivers and smaller operators towards major commercial fleet deployments.

04

Insurance

Exploring how vehicle data, video and evidence can change the relationship between fleets and insurers.

05

International Expansion

Building technology and commercial relationships capable of operating beyond the UK.

06

Capital

Understanding when external investment, strategic partners or eventually the public markets can accelerate growth.

07

The £100m Target

Tracking what actually has to happen to turn ambition into enterprise value.

Two Countries

Building Across Two Countries

United KingdomIndia

One of the most important parts of the Kasava story is the combination of commercial experience in the UK with engineering capability in India.

Kasava has operations in Britain alongside a growing development team in Kolkata.

That structure gives us the ability to develop technology, iterate quickly and build intellectual property while remaining close to customers in the UK market.

I believe this UK–India combination can become one of Kasava's competitive advantages.

United Kingdom

Customers, commercial operations and fleets.

India

Engineering, development and technology.

The Person Behind the Business

Ronojay Nag

I'm an entrepreneur.

I've built companies, raised investment, sold businesses and started again.

I've also experienced the other side of entrepreneurship — disputes, litigation, difficult commercial decisions and situations I would approach differently with the benefit of hindsight.

I don't believe credibility comes from pretending those things never happened. They are part of my history. But they aren't the entirety of it.

Today my energy is focused on building Kasava, developing technology across the UK and India and attempting something considerably bigger than anything I've built before.

My first £100 million business.

Next Target

£100,000,000

I don't know exactly what the journey from here to £100 million will look like. That's precisely why I'm documenting it.

Success isn't about never taking a wrong turn. It's about what you build after it.
